For the last two weeks Pohutukawa have been
learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. We have talked about what the shapes are called, what they look
like and how many sides and corners they have.
“We learnt about cones and cubes and cylinders and spheres.” – Alister
“I learnt how many sides the shapes have.” – Rarika
“Squares have four sides. Circles go around. Diamonds have four sides." – Vern
“We learnt about squares, hexagons, pentagons, triangles, diamonds, rectangles and ovals." – Andrea
“We made patterns with shapes." – Mya
We have made some 3D shapes using nets, as well as lots of cool artwork using 2D shapes. Here are some of our creations!
