Measurement

This week for maths we are learning about measurement - length. We have been measuring things using objects like rods and cubes and learning to cut and stick pictures to put them in order from shortest-tallest or tallest-shortest. Today we had lots of fun measuring how many rods tall different mountains are.

CSI Sockburn!

CSI Sockburn

On Friday morning, Pohutukawa's Sockburn Sams became detectives, after discovering what looked like a very suspicious set up in the learning space.

Eye witness reports provided details to what appeared to a heinous crime- the prime suspects being two small brown Teddy Bears who allegedly stole then awarded themselves Koru cards for being awesome. Obviously fakes! 

Traces of food and jewels were also recovered from the scene as the story unfolded.

Dusting powder and crime scene tape indicated that the Police had been involved during the morning.

Library day change

Our library day is going to be Thursday afternoons from now on as we have had to swap our PE/music rotations to Wednesday afternoons due to the senior school doing sport on Thursdays. Please make sure that your child has their library folder at school on Thursdays.

PE

On Wednesday afternoon we had lots of fun with Mr M learning how to kick a ball with the inside of our foot and to trap the ball with our foot.

Music Time

We loved learning about keeping the beat with Miss Smith on Wednesday afternoon.
